About Education & Training
The objective of Education & Training is in – “Creating awareness, educating the community, orienting and training the influencers on issues of sexual and reproductive health aspects and related issues with the aim of developing a cadre of trained workers to bring about behavioural changes in the community”
The Education and Training project on Sexual Reproductive Health with focus on adolescents and youth, was first initiated as early as 1987, starting with Brass Tacks project in schools and today forms an important area of Sanstha’s work. Many innovations such as Distance Learning Certification Courses, Aadhaar, Sparsh and Youth Friendly Services have been successfully implemented. Work has been carried out in schools, colleges, industries, with milk federations, sex workers, high-risk populations, NGOs, government peripheral workers, panchayats etc. Each project is specially designed to meet the special needs of the target population. Along with education, services form an integral part of all these projects. How do we do this?
- By orienting and training influencers like ASHA’s, ANM’s AWW’s and RMPs.
- Orienting and training influencers such as ASHAs, ANMs, AWWs , RMPs, SHGs
- Educating the peer educators, youth, young married women, men on issues of family planning, pregnancies, un protected sex, nutrition, health and hygiene, safe motherhood, anemia, etc.
- Imparting vocational skills and repose confidence in their own self.
Parivar Seva works with many other NGOs to generate community awareness and demand for SRH, FP and MCH services. The trainings that are being imparted equip the community to meet the challenges in the field.. Parivar Seva’s Education & Training unit provides for training both paid and sponsored. Our teams are very active in the states of Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, U.P. and West Bengal, training in schools (adolescents and youth) Co-operatives, Corporate, with truckers, migrants, self help groups. And they are in effect the face of Parivar Seva.
The Education & Training unit develops modules, flip charts, games, and training material and innovates to bring about changes in the outlook and receptiveness in the community. The health camps, which are being held with regularity, ensure good awareness and dispensing of low cost effective medicine is another way of connecting with the community to bring about behavioural change communication
